“Portrait of a Thought” is a fine art exhibition by Dan Criblez, a painter, illustrator, sculpturist, filmmaker, installation and sound artist based in Bushwick, BK. This exhibition is a visual interpretation of emotions through intuitive oil portraits and figures, & mixed media sculptures born from the unknown of Criblez’s imagination. Without any idea of what will come out or how they will look, this practice is an experiment to allow the brain to do what it feels. Drawing some of these characters with the eyes closed or in a dark room has given the figures the opportunity to come into form without judgement or criticism.This body of work aptly portrays the development of Criblez's new artistic path and informs his next traditional media animation short film project.
